Study Leave Travel Plans

People have been asking me, ‘Whereabouts in America are you going, Peter?’ The answer is complicated- there’s a number of different places. And it’s taken a while to get all the travel organised. But now, at last, I have the complete timetable:

Tuesday 5 June; Fly from Glasgow to New York. In New York I’ll be with Rev Jeff Geary, pastor of White Plains Presbyterian Church, to the north of the city. His wife, Noelle Damico, is with the Presbyterian Church’s Campaign for Fair Food.

Sunday 10 June: After Church at White Plains I take the train to Washington DC, to visit Faith in Public Life, the Presbyterian Church (USA) office in DC, and Sojourners.

Thursday 14 June: to Cincinnati, Ohio, staying with Dr Troy Jackson of University Christian Church.

Sunday 17 to Saturday 22 June: Community Organising Course at the Ohio Dominican University in Columbus.

Then back to New York, with activities including a visit to the Presbyterian Office at the United Nations.

29 June: to Pittsburgh, for the 220th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA), at which I will represent the Church of Scotland, until 7 July.

Then it’s back to new York until my family arrives and we start our holidays on 10 July.

That’s just the outline programme- no doubt there will be lots more, although I also need time to just write and think!
